Some places have a curious way of following us home. Through photographs gathered across different countries, architects and centuries, I began to notice that what remained was rarely architecture alone, but something far more elusive: atmosphere, character and the quiet details that make a place extraordinarily difficult to leave behind.

The spaces we pass through are often treated as secondary, yet they shape how a building is revealed. Staircases, corridors and landings create rhythm, anticipation and moments of pause. Perhaps architecture’s character is found not only in where we arrive, but in everything that unfolds along the way.

With endless access to the same homes, hotels and carefully curated references, individuality is beginning to look strangely familiar. Perhaps authenticity is not about being entirely original, but knowing how to absorb influence without mistaking it for instinct and creating spaces that feel like us, rather than simply looking right.
